Police/FRSC Collaborate on Traffic Surveillance

The Federal Road Safety Commission has commenced a joint traffic surveillance of the Federal Capital Territory towards ensuring a hitch and accident free season as Nigerians travel for the yuletide.

The Commission’s Deputy Corps Marshall of Operations, Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, said the aerial monitoring and surveillance spread through the major flashpoints in federal capital and its environ will help them determine areas where interventions or back-up would be needed especially to decongest travel routes.

He said 350 personnel have been deployed to major trouble spots such as Gwagwalada and Lokoja roads so that travels encounter as little stress as possible.

The Commissioner of Police Federal Operations, Mr. Abdurahaman Akano, who led the surveillance team, said the synergy between the different organisations including the police and the army is important especially at this time when safety and security are major concerns.
