AGN elections postponed again


AGN presidential candidates - Emeka Rollas, Ibinabo Fiberisima, Steve Eboh

The last has not been heard of the troubles be-devilling the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN)elections, as it has once again been postponed till further notice.
After protracted delays and postponement, the election has once again been moved ‘tentatively’ to April 2012.
Speaking to NET, embattled AGN president, Segun Arinze, who left the country for New York on the eve of the initial elections (March 17, 2012) denied that the delays were a making of his, as well as reports that he wanted to hold on to the position for monetary gains.
I’m back in the country now, as we speak, I’m on my way to Abuja. Don’t mind all those rumours about tenure elongation and all of that. If I wanted to hold on to power I would have re-contested‘ he affirmed.
He however couldn’t give a specific date for elections when prodded.
The elections will hold in April but I will communicate date and venue to you later‘.
The AGN elections, which has three major candidates: Steve Eboh, Emeka Rollas and Ibinabo Fiberisima battling for the presidency, were supposed to have been conducted in Ekiti State on Saturday, March 17, 2012.
