Chairman,
Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, on
Thursday said electoral officers might vote in the 2015 general
elections
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary
to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Kayode Idowu, quoted Jega as saying this in
response to a question by a member of a group of ‘Young Experts on
Get-to-Know ECOWAS’, who paid him a study visit in Abuja.
The group was led on the visit to INEC by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation.
According to the INEC boss, the proposal
to allow electoral officers exercise their franchise is part of
measures being put in place to give the electoral process credibility.
Jega said, “One of the imperfections of our elections really has been the disenfranchisement of electoral officers.
