Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi, has said the Peoples Democratic Party will soon flood Nigerian market with its own brand of rice.
Elechi spoke in Abuja on Wednesday when he paid a courtesy visit to the national leadership of the party, led by its chairman, Dr. Bamanga Tukur.
The governor informed the party of the three new high capacity rice mills his administration established in the three senatorial zones of the state and restated his determination to fully tap the agricultural endowments that abound in his state.

He said, “These world-class rice mills will no doubt boost our efforts in ensuring a zero rice importation regime in the country. PDP rice will soon flood the market.”
Elechi commended Tukur and other members of the National Working Committee for holding high the core vision of the party despite minor disagreements on issues.
“We are here to pay our solidarity to you and the NWC for the commendable leadership you give to the Party and through that, to the nation. We came to say a happy new year and keep you abreast of our efforts in service to the people of Ebonyi State,” he added.
Tukur described food security as a fundamental factor to peace and unity in Nigeria and paid glowing tributes to the commitment of the governor to the development of agriculture.
