Bomb scare at Lagos council secretariat, again •Bomb factory not in Niger State -Gov

There was fear and  anxiety in Ikeja area of Lagos State on Wednesday afternoon, following  widespread reports of the discovery of a substance suspected to be an explosive in the headquarters of Ikeja Local Government.
Men of the anti-bomb section of The Nigeria Police had, immediately after the alarm was raised, visited the council secretariat and removed the substance for test and analysis.
The  local government secretariat was deserted on Wednesday afternoon,  as workers  of the council and traders around its vicinity  escaped soon  after the alarm  was raised .
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the  scenario started to unfold, when  one of the workers of the council discovered the substance  on the air conditioner at the council’s treasurer’s office.
The unidentified council worker had, immediately raised the alarm, making workers and visitors at the council  to scamper for safety
While the workers  rushed out  of their different offices, the  local government authorities made frantic efforts  to get in contact with the anti- bomb section of the Nigeria Police.
The policemen, upon their arrival, were said to have carried out an exercise which  appeared like  detonation of the suapected explosive.
They later took  the substance away for further examination.
The  report of  the discovery of the suspected bomb instantly spread to all the nooks and crannies of Ikeja and other parts of the state making people to troop to the council secretariat.
The image maker in charge of the state police command, Samuel Jinadu, confirmed the incident to the Nigerian Tribune but described it as a “ bomb scare”  and enjoined residents of Ikeja not to panic.
He could, however, not  comment on the discovered  substance, saying that, “the anti-bomb people  have taken it away and since I am not a bomb expert, I cannot comment on it.“
Meanwhile, GOVERNOR Muazu Babangida Aliyu of Niger State has disputed claims by the State Security Service (SSS) that it discovered a bomb factory operated by members of the religious sect, Boko Haram, in Suleja, Niger State, saying the place where the factory was found was actually in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
