Mixed reactions over Jonathan’s first 100 days

MIXED reactions of positive potentials and criticisms of lost opportunities shadowed the review of the first 100 days of the Goodluck Jonathan administration last night. While positive scores came from the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, opposition parties and stakeholders flayed the Jonathan administration for its alleged inertia with General Muhammadu Buhari affirming that the government had performed to expectations of non-performance.
National Chairman of Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, described the last 100 days of the administration as days of lost opportunities.
Vice-presidential candidate of All Nigeria Peoples’ Party, ANPP, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said it was too early to assess the administration though he affirmed that the government was not following up its proclamations with actions.
PDP, however, scored the administration high marks for setting the nation on the path to greatness with its transformation agenda and putting the nation in the right footing in the international community.
Answering questions from newsmen, yesterday, in Abuja, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Professor Rufai Ahmed Alkali, said available indices indicated that the Jonathan’s administration was poised to address the lapses of the past, especially in the electoral system.

He said:“The fact that leaders all over the world have being coming to Nigeria on virtually daily basis to show solidarity to the President and this government show that we are on course.”(Vanguard Newspaper)
