The
China National Machinery and Equipment Import and Export Corporation
has said the Omotosho Power Plant in Ogun State is now adding 120
megawatts of electricity to the national grid.
The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Liu Zhao-Long, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Tuesday.
NAN reports that the 500MW capacity independent power plant was built by CMEC.
Zhao-Long said two out of the four units of the plant were generating the 120MW, which was being fed to the national grid.
“We have added 120MW to the national grid
from Omotosho Power Plant phase two. We are doing everything possible to
ensure that all the four units come on stream within the stipulated
time frame,’’ he said.
Zhao-Long commended the Niger Delta Power
Holding Company for ensuring that the project was completed within the
stipulated period.
