RENEWED HOSTILITY: Another 6 killed in Jos

FOLLOWING the killing of eight people last week in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, another six people were killed on Sunday in Jol and Kwi villages
in Riyom Local Government Area of the state.
Nigerian Tribune learnt that the assailants swooped on the villages in the early hours of Sunday and killed four people in Jol and another two in Kwi.
It was further learnt that the night marauders not only killed but also wounded many inhabitants of the two villages, while houses were also set ablaze at random in the communities.
Nigerian Tribune further learnt that people living in neighbouring villages are now living in fear with some of them moving out of the village for fear of being attacked.
Efforts to get official confirmation from the spokesman for the Special Task Force, Captain Charles Ekeocha, were unsuccessful. Text messages sent to him were also not replied.
However, a member of the state House of Assembly representing Riyom constituency, Honourable Daniel Dem, confirmed the incident, saying that the law enforcement agencies were on the trail of the assailants.
The attack came barely 24 hours after a Federal Government’s delegation visited the state to talk on the security challenges in the state where it expressed worries over the security challenges facing Plateau State, even as it said the phenomenon had become a national concern.
