Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Kano State Governor |
Wada told NAN that many parents might not be able to afford the fees and would, therefore, withdraw their children and wards from public schools as it used to be in the past.
Another parent, Malam Bilyaminu Abdulmalik, a resident of Kurmawa area in the municipality, said he had no problem with the payment because it was meagre and affordable.
He said: “It is just that people hate being responsible. If not, what is N400 when compared to others who take their children to private schools and pay hundreds of thousands?”
Hajiya Bilkisu Baballe, a mother who has three of her children in secondary schools, told NAN that the introduction of the fees was untimely.Source
