Kano NLC vows to continue strike, says no to suspension

THE Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kano State chapter, has vowed to continue with the strike action until the Federal Government reversed N65  per litre of petrol.
It called on workers to disregard the suspension of the strike announced by the NLC, just as the body said  due process was not followed before the general strike was suspended.
This was just as the Kano NLC stated that the national president of NLC, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar,  was not constitutionally  given the mandate to suspend the strike action.
Comrade Inusa Danguguwa , the state NLC chairman, who made  the pronouncement, on Monday, in Kano, at a press conference held at the Bayero University Kano (BUK),disclosed that the national body of NLC had no right to unilateral call off the strike.
According to him, the collective agreement of all the NLC, Trade Union Congress (TUC) and other pressure in the struggle against the purported increment on pump price was that President Goodluck Jonathan must reverse to N65 per litre.
