Protesters in Kaduna today defied trade union leaders and the threat of soldiers deployed overnight by the Nigerian government. As early as 8:00 AM a large number of protesters marched through the streets and listened to the address by activists at a public park.
The former governor Kaduna, Alhaji Balarabe Musa and Comrade Shehu
Sanni also addressed the rallies in defiance of a controversial order by
leaders of the trade unions late last night suspending all street
protests and rallies.
