Investigate Chime’s use of soldiers against labour leaders, NLC, TUC write Jonathan

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have written President Goodluck Jonathan to call the Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, to order and asked him to investigate the use of armed soldiers and other security personnel to harass and detain some labour leaders during a peaceful protest in Enugu last Thursday.
In a joint letter by the two labour centres, they want the president to, as a matter of urgency, call the governor to order because of the insecurity in the state.
“Clearly Sir, the activities and disposition of Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State is injurious to good governance, peace and security in the country. He has to be called to order," labour told the president.
In the open letter to the president, the  NLC President, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar and his TUC counterpart, Comrade Peter Esele, said they brought the event that occurred in Enugu State on Thursday to the attention of President Jonathan with sadness and because of its attendant security implication.
