BOGUS STORY:

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Osayuki Godwin Oshodin, has ordered the immediate evacuation of students from the institution.The Vice Chancellor, in a statement signed by Mrs. C.M Ojomo, Acting Registrar of the institution, yesterday,

ordered the immediate closure and evacuation of the institution with effect from 6:30am, Thursday.

The VC stated that a new date of resumption would be announced later.

His action, we learnt resulted from the confession of a suspected member of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, who was arrested Wednesday night in Benin City. The sect member stated that a bomb had been planted in one of the student hostels in the institution.

 checks reveal that the police in Ugbowo division arrested the suspect, Yusuf Danlandi, with bomb explosives along Ugbowo New Lagos road.

Police sources stated that the suspect had confessed as at the time of his arrest that a 3x9 magnitude bomb was smuggled into the University of Benin, with the help of a Muslim faithful few days ago. He said the bomb was deposited in one of the hostels yet to be named.
