Army withdraws Soldiers from Lagos

Explaining why the soldiers were withdrawn, a source at Army headquar-ters Abuja, said the purpose for which they were deplo-yed to Lagos and other cities had been achieved.
The source said: “The soldiers were deployed to the streets of Lagos to forestall any act of violence by the protesters following the agreement reached between labour and the Federal Government. We acted proactively.”
The source added that the proactive measure was successful as there were no reports of accidental discharge or molestation.
