Flood: Fashola declares public holiday for Lagos schools

Sunday’s heavy rainfall, which crippled Lagos State, has forced Governor Babatunde Fashola to declare a public holiday for all public and private schools in the state.
Vehicular and human movements, including commercial activities in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub were paralysed.
The rain, which started at about 5am in most parts of the state, lasted till late into the night, flooding homes and roads across the state.
The roads were rendered impassable, while residents in some areas struggled to salvage their household items from the flood. In Jakande Estate, flood swept cars and buses.
I think its high time Governor Fashola tackled this flood issue once and for all..cos I want to believe most of the drainages constructed are either blocked or not well channelled. And some places does not even have drainage system at all....Well the public holiday for the schools is not a bad idea afterall.  Good morning guys, how was ur weekend? Mine was cool, just occasional rainfall in my area unlike lagos where we have continous rain...bonnee journee i.e. have a good day(hmmn, hope I'm correct o.lol)
